The "Christianity Rare Books Database" is a joint digitization project of the Hong Kong Baptist University Library and the Chaplain's Office. This Database includes 36 Chinese stitch-bound rare books on Bible commentary and Christianity which were published in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These rare books document the research effort of scholars and missionaries on Christianity and Bible during that period, and are valuable research materials for those who are interested in the studies of religions, translation and history. The Library is grateful to Rev. Dr. King Tak Ip, Chaplain of the University and also the owner of these rare books. His support and authorization for digitization is important for the creation of this Database for free public access on the World Wide Web.

This Database contains index and full texts. Library patrons can select the titles and chapters from the bibliography and then browse the PDF images of the texts.
